Service Overview

The provision of immediate medical intervention is fundamental to why the Employee First service works so effectively for businesses. Medical advice from a registered nurse (RN) at the point when employees report absence ensures symptoms are triaged, staff feel supported and ‘helped back to work’.

When your employee is sick:

1. Employee calls – a dedicated number is available 24/7 to report absence and consult with a nurse.

2. Confidential medical advice is provided – employees are given confidential medical advice and a back to work date is agreed.

3. Immediate notification of absence – employer receives immediate notification of absence with reason, and return to work date via email.

4. Medical follow-upemployees are contacted for a follow up conversation; managers are automatically updated.

5. Return to work notifications (RTW) – manager receives confirmation of return to work and all materials required to complete RTW interview in line with policies.

6. Triggers – tailored alerts to prompt appropriate action by managers.

7. Management reporting – real-time, confidential absence analysis to enable organizations to spot absence trends and problem areas.

We adopt a partnership approach to absence management ensuring the consistent application of policies and procedures with a strong emphasis on return to work. By implementing accurate reporting systems that offer real-time visibility of absence trends we can work with managers to assess department hotspots and evaluate individual absence levels. This helps managers address these issues in a timely and appropriate manner, greatly reducing time spent on administration.

Simultaneously, we ensure that all HR policies and procedures are consistently and appropriately applied, which means employees are treated fairly and equally, manager to manager, department to department.
